Oval or globe shaped tropical fruit.
Greenish yellow, orange or crimson in colour.
Size can be 3 - 8cm long and 2.5cm to 5cm wide.
Has easily removable soft flexible hairy bristles about 1cm long and usually has an attached stem.
Flesh is usually transparent or white.
Popular for its juicy sweet texture and subtle flavour similar to a sweet chestnut.
Has a large seed.

Select firm, brightly coloured rambutan that don't look bruised. 
Look for those with firm but not brittle spines. 

Source of Vitamin C and Calcium.

Store refrigerated in a plastic container for 5 to 7 days.
Can also be stored at room temperature for a couple of days.
