General Description:
When cut the pieces are shaped like stars.
Golden yellow skin and similar coloured translucent flesh which is lightly speckled with dark seeds.
Selection:
Select firm star fruit that have a smooth shiny looking skin and are somewhat translucent.
Avoid green ones as the fruit is likely under ripe.
As it ripens the skin will turn a light golden colour and the points will start to turn brown.
