Rockmelons make a great snack and also go well in fruit salads.
Outside of Australia & New-Zealand rockmelons are called cantaloupe.
Large oval shape about 15 to 25 cm in diameter with a rough grey/brown netted skin.
Once ripe will usually have a musky sweet smell at the stem end of the melon.
An odourless melon is likely to be tasteless.
Choose rockmelons that feel heavy for their size.
Rockmelons are a good source of Folate.

Keep uncut rockmelons at room temperature until they are fully ripe, then refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Always refrigerate cut up rockmelon in a covered container up to 3 days.
Cut rockmelons will absorb other food odours so it is best to wrap the melon in plastic wrap.
