General Description:

A sweet tasting berry 5-16 mm diameter with a flared crown at the end.
When growing their colour changes from pale greenish at first, then reddish-purple finally turning dark purple once ripe.
Have a white-gray waxy bloom that covers the surface - acting as a protective coat.
Under the skin is a partially transparent flesh that contains tiny seeds.
Are one of only a few edible foods that are naturally coloured blue.
