Variety Description:

Medium-sized fruit, weighing 200-300g.
Pear shaped.
Dark green with rough skin.
Contains a large central seed, 3 to 5 centimetres in diameter.
Once ripe the skin turns a dark, purplish-black & will yield to gentle pressure.
Very common variety - accounts for more than 80% of the avocado crop.


Selection:

Avocados go quickly from ripeness to over ripeness try picking slightly unripe ones.
Look for avocados that are dark green and hard. 
As they ripen they will brown slightly and become slightly soft to thumb pressure. 
Be wary of soft avocados are they may be over-ripe and no good for consumption.
